Community Redevelopment Agency
The CRA works with communities to address blight and provide affordable housing through the use of the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) tool. We work with community residents, business owners, and other stakeholders to determine community priorities and potential projects in TIF areas as designated by the Memphis City Council and Shelby County Commission.
Memphis Uptown Community Plan
As directed by the Memphis City Council and the Shelby County Commission, the CRA has recently completed a planning process for the Uptown TIF. Led by the Uptown Advisory Committee, the process generated a great reception and input from the residents of the neighborhoods. Please click on the following link to view the adopted Uptown Plan. Uptown Neighborhood Profile
The Uptown Advisory Committee (UAC) was selected to work with the Community Redevelopment Agency on prioritizing work for this Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district. Members of the UAC are: Andrea Curry, Alan Higdon, Valerie Peavy, Andre Jones, Mary Baker, Louisa Shepherd, Damonic Davis, Williams Brack, Bryan Smith, Bobby White, Sara Hall,and Ricky Floyd.
